Punjabi Music at International level

Punjabi music has vast area in the world. Punjabi music is famous all over the world. Uniqueness of punjabi music is known at international level.

Punjabi music is the root of whole music in India as it comes through the ancient music which sung by the Sufi Saints of India in various languages. As the change is the law of the nature it is also changing day by day. Today punjabi music has very vast area in the world. Today music of the all countries are coming under the single roof by the efforts of the singers, social workers and the people who saw the nations beyond the boundries.
As the music is the symbol of love, affections and international brotherhood. It is need of the today to keep the nations close of each other on musical level. But it will have bad impact because music of a nation can lost it's uniqueness under the music of the other nation. As punjabi music gets the impact of the English by the entry of the rappers in Punjabi music. Young people like this but the thinkers are always on the opposite side of this. According to them Punjabi music losing it's uniqueness by the entry of other nation's music. It's true that the combination and distribution of knowledge is necessary for the progress of everything but it can be in limits.

Today Punjabi music   converting in the Punjabi cinema. Most of the  Punjabi  singers are performing the actor and many shooting are made in foreign countries. The clear impact can be seen on the whole team. It is also the reason of internationalism of the Punjabi music.

May the punjabi music like by the other nations. As it's symbol of happiness and hurls which indicated by the word 'Balle Balle'.
So its good for the health of the punajbi music industry if Punjabi goes ahead at international level. But it more necessary to preserve its nationalism at uniqueness from the impact of the other music.

Second incident about Gurdas Maan

Did you know tha Gurdas Man had accidents?

Gurdas Maan was born in a Jatt sikh family to the late Sardar Gurdev Singh Maan and Bibi Tej Kaur. Maan is married to Manjeet Maan and has one son, Gurikk who has done his schooling at Yadavindra Public School and Mayo College. He also studied at Eton College.

At a village near Karnal, Haryana, India on 20 January 2007 Maan was involved in a car accident in which his Range Rover was hit and severely damaged by a truck. Maan escaped with minor injuries on his face, hands and chest. His driver Ganesh was injured seriously but recovered soon after.

Third incident about Surjit Bindrakhia

Surjit Bindrakhia had arguably one of the most powerful voice among Bhangra singers during his time. Throaty, with a wide range of sounds, he was one of the most successful traditional artist doing the rounds of the bhangra scene during his time. Surjit had been known in Punjab for many years, but his big break in the expatriate market came with Dupatta Tera Sat Rang Da 1995, a track that was his best known. Since many remixes in 1990's were made of his older songs and a new releases.Surjit Bindrakhia is credited as being the first international superstar in bhangra music. His song Dupatta Tera Sat Rang Da holds the record for being the number one Punjabi song on UK charts for weeks.

Immensely popular in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s at the rural lengend belt of Punjab, Bindrakhia's voice was considered to be one of the most powerful voices among traditional singers like in Punjab. He had cut 32 solo audio cassettes during his decade-long tour career. Surjit had been known in the Punjab for many years before, but his big break in the expatriate market came with Dupatta Tera Sat Rang Da 1995 a track that can only be called explosive. Since then there had been various remixes in the 1990s of his older songs and some blockbuster new releases, including 'Tu Ni Boldi' and 'Jatt Di Pasand' Bindrakhia was a traditional bhangra singer, and since most of his work had been produced in India, it may at first have appeared unpolished. Certainly the music is more "rustic" than that found on many bhangra bands from the UK, but that did not reduce its impact. There are more sustained dhol beats in Bindrakhia's work than you would find elsewhere and the style is traditional.

A note must be made of the high tone Bindrakhia sometimes uses, which sounded like a screech. You can find others trying such vocal pyrotechnics, but few can pull it off as Bindrakhia did. His singing style worked with the beat, so you would find him pausing along with the dhol and raising and shifting into different keys as the dhol does. All of this gave Bindrakhia the air of a child gone a little mad with his voice. Stated to be one of the most popular singers in Punjab, Surjit Bindrakhia was considered to be the vital link between traditional Punjabi folk music and modern Punjabi pop.[5]

In 2011 DJ Harvey and Nirmal Sidhu made a tribute song to Surjit Bindrakhia called Bindrakhia Boliyan, it has been a huge success since its release being ranked at Number 1 on the BBC Asian Network Chart in the first week of release.

Death

Bindrakhia died of a heart attack on the Morning of 17 November 2003 at his home in Phase-7, Mohali.

Many singers and artists attended his bhog and funeral at Bindrakhia's native village Bindrakh. Some of the artists who turned up to pay their last respects to the legend included Hans Raj Hans, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Babbu Maan, his lyricist and a close friend Shamsher Singh Sandhu, his guru and music composer Atul Sharma, and the legendary Gurdas Mann. Bindrakhia stormed the market with over 250 million hit sales of which 175 million came from India alone. He later combined with greats such as Surinder Shinda doing live sets.

Tribute

The great Punjabi singer Babbu Maan pays him a tribute with a song dedicated to Bindrakhia titled as Pind Diyan Juhaan and a UK singer, Bee2, dedicated a song "Bindrakhia fer Aa (the great song) to Surjit Bindrakhia."

Fivth incident about Kulwinder Dhillon

Dhillon started his career with his debut album Kacheriyan Ch Mele Lagde that had the hit song "Boliyan", which got a lot of airplay on the radio. In 2002, he released his album, Glassi Khadke; it was hit and the popular song in this album was Mashooq. Dhillon made his career with his third, smash hit album College in 2003 which is still selling. The most popular song on the album was "Kalli Kite Mil". Though this was not a fast-paced tune, the album was redone later for an international release and the song was converted to a hardcore Bhangra, fast-paced song.

"Kalli Kite Mil Kujh Kahengi Ta Nahi " made Dhillon widely popular. He later released Velli in 2005 that had just built upon his success with his previous album. It became an instant hit . The album was enjoyed by all throughout the world and nothing had to be changed to appeal to the international crowd. The album velli is also believed to be his most successful album, which is believed to be sold over four hundred thousand copies worldwide. Most of the lyrics he sang for the albums were by Balvir Boparai, who is famous for his album Hostel. He also released another album, Jatt Driver Fauji, which contained some of his new and some popular tracks.

Death

He died in a road accident on the Phagwara-Banga road, near Behram village, on 19 March 2006.

As per wikipedia:-

Folk music

Folk music includes both traditional music and the genre that evolved from it during the 20th century folk revival. The term originated in the 19th century but is often applied to music that is older than that. Some types of folk music are also called world music.

Devotional music

A devotional song is a hymn which accompanies religious observances and rituals. Traditionally devotional music has been a part of Christian music, Hindu music, Sufi music, Buddhist music, Islamic music and Jewish music

Each major religion has its own tradition with devotional hymns. In the West, the devotional has been a part of the liturgy in Roman Catholicism, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Russian Orthodox Church, and others, since their earliest days. A devotional is a part of the prayer service proper and is not, in these contexts, ornamentation. During the Protestant Reformation, church music in general was hotly debated. Some Puritans objected to all ornament and sought to abolish choirs, hymns, and, inasmuch as liturgy itself was rejected, devotionals.

Popular music

The term popular music belongs to any of a number of musical genres "having wide appeal"and typically distributed to large audiences through the music industry. It stands in contrast to both art music and traditional music, which are typically disseminated academically or orally to smaller, local audiences. The original application of the term is to music of the 1880s Tin Pan Alley period in the United States. Although popular music sometimes is known as "pop music", the two terms are not interchangeable[citation needed]. Popular music is a generic term for music of all ages that appeals to popular tastes, whereas pop music usually refers to a specific musical genre.

Classical music

Classical music is art music produced or rooted in the traditions of Western music (both liturgical and secular). It encompasses a broad span of time from roughly the 11th century to the present day. The central norms of this tradition became codified between 1550 and 1900, which is known as the common practice period. The major time divisions of classical music are as follows: the early music period, which includes the Medieval (500–1400) and the Renaissance (1400–1600) eras; the Common practice period, which includes the Baroque (1600–1750), Classical (1750–1830), and Romantic eras (1804–1910); and the 20th century (1901–2000) which includes the modern (1890–1930) that overlaps from the late 19th-century, the high modern (mid 20th-century), and contemporary or postmodern (1975–2000) eras.

These are the culture found throughout the world but the Punjabi culture is the richest and vast culture in whole world.
